Hilary Dunne

Hilary's work is heavily influenced by her travels in South and Central America, the Caribbean, India and Africa and in particular her travels and family connections in Ethiopia. Colour is always of paramount importance.

Some work gives tribute to the beauty and culture of the people she meets. In the colours and leafs she uses she works to enhance their vibrancy, and draws inspiration from their world of ancient religions and traditions, from their art and music, to their wonderful spirituality and sensuality.

Other work attempts to go to a more mystical and exotic place, where magic and symbol play a greater part and where the characters are players on another stage. She has always been fascinated by the world of dreams and in the spirit worlds favoured by some cultures, and this fascination is reflected here.
