Carousel

Carousel is a creative hub in the heart of Marylebone. Split over three stylish floors, they put on a revolving programme of chef residencies, art exhibitions and all round awesome experiences. Big name chefs from all over the world, film screenings, creative workshops, life drawing classes, stand-up comedy… No two days are ever the same. They’re one of Central London’s most talked about events venues, specialising in press days, brand activations and private parties of all different shapes and sizes – dry hire and bespoke.

Yu Ting Ong

Yu Ting’s multidisciplinary practice emerges from the language of painting. Her works explore the tensions that arise with each mark, gesture and form, seeking to resolve them through the interplay of harmony, geometry and paint. She finds a close relationship between painting, poetry and music; how the interweaving of varied elements and meaning can be carried into visual expression, resulting in the multilayered visual tapestries of her work.

Shuttlecock Inc

Studio News…

Steve Stacey

Steve Stacey designed two sleeves for Secret 7, an annual event that combines music and art for a good cause.  The concept behind Secret 7″ is simple: seven tracks from top musicians are selected, 100 copies of each are pressed onto 7” vinyl and sleeve artwork is anonymously created for all 700 singles by some of the most established names in the art and design world. The sleeves are exhibited and then sold with all proceeds going to Amnesty International. Other contributors this year included Sir Anish Kapoor, Sir Paul Smith, Jenny Holzer and Jean Jullien.

Julie Goldsmith

Julie Goldsmith is working on a window exhibition for The Viktor Wynd Museum of Curiosities, in Mare Street London, which will run for a month from August with a launch in the gallery to be announced. This is a chance for Julie to show off the more Gothic side of her oervre. She will be creating a series of works to mark the anniversary of 1816, the legendary year without a summer.

Simon Clark

Its been a busy few months for Simon Clark Photography, trips to Cape Town, Barcelona and Tenerife, shooting new campaigns for Lululemon, John Lewis, BAM and our very own Every Second Counts.

Sophie Molins

Sophie Molins has been commissioned to work on two films to accompany the compositions of Sarah Sarhandi. The films will be shown at Sarah’s BOTH UNIVERSE concert on Friday 27th of May at Royal Festival hall as part of the Alchemy festival at the Southbank Centre.

Chris Trotman

Chris Trotman, aka graphic artist Dex, has had his art piece, God Save The Queen, shortlisted for the Royal Academy Summer Show! The limited edition print gives Her Majesty’s famous silhouette a punk make over fashioning her famous profile from hand crafted lyrics from the Sex Pistol’s classic, God Save The Queen. Here’s hoping the jury are music loving anarchistic philatelists. He has also just launched the latest product in the Literary London collection – a tea towel map of the Capital featuring characters from the pages of novels based in London, which is based upon his award-winning Limited Edition Art Print The Literary London Map.

Anna Burles joins KLC School of Design’s new Alumni Advisory Board

Interior Designer Anna Burles has been invited to Chair KLC School of Design’s new Alumni Advisory Board for a three-year tenure, helping shape and inform the future of the school. Anna herself trained at the prestigious Chelsea Harbour Interior Design College back in the day and joins a 12-strong panel of successful previous graduates from the last decade. Anna has also started writing features for Houzz as a regular Editorial Contributor and sits on the Membership Committee of the BIID (British Institute of Interior Design).

Morse Studio work on ‘New British Inventors: Inside Heatherwick Studio’

Morse Studio are continuing their work on ‘New British Inventors: Inside Heatherwick Studio’, a touring exhibition presented by British Council as part of the GREAT Britain campaign, focusing on the prolific work of Heatherwick Studio. The exhibition visits the Taipei Fine Arts Museum in March.

Red Door Management

Red Door represents Actors in TV, Film, Theatre, Voice Over work and Commercials. Marking its 10th Anniversary this year, Red Door has had an impressive decade of client successes from the multi-million pound Studio Canal Period Drama, Versailles, to achieving many regular and guest roles in ITV’s Coronation Street and Emmerdale, BBC’s Casualty and Channel 4’s Hollyoaks. The release of Sacha Baron Cohen’s new Feature Film, The Brother’s Grimsby in March will also feature two Red Door artists.

Kharmel Cochrane Casting

Kharmel Cochrane is an award winning Casting Director. Recent work includes Sundance favourite The Witch, Lilting and The Goob which won a BIFA and Best Film at Dinard. Kharmel also casts for commercials and music videos for renowned Directors such as Daniel Wolfe, Frederick Bond and David Wilson and for clients such as Mercedes, Agent Provocatuer and Nike.

Strenua London

Strenua London produce lavish, lightweight cashmere in translucent hues and jewel tone colours, accentuated with silk and wool. Founded by Sue and Pietro, Strenua seeks out those who value the sensual and sophisticated. The Idler is a company devoted to helping people to lead more fulfilled lives. They publish a quarterly magazine and a series of guide books; produce quirky online courses; run live events and sell gifts. Daniel Hopwood is returning as a judge in the new series of the Great Interior Design Challenge, starting tonight on BBC2 for the next five weeks.

Sidonie Sandrine will be exhibiting Ioanna Kourbela’s Autumn/Winter 2016-17 collection at PURE London from 14-16 February 2016. The collection is also being showcased to buyers and boutiques owners throughout the fashion pre-buying season from her studio here at Great Western Studios. more+

KPPR have a array of fantastic comedy shows coming to London this Winter including Luisa Omielan annual Valentines Party on Sat 13th Feb. She’ll be performing her acclaimed hit debut show ‘What Would Beyonce Do?!’ and following up with a DJ’d after party to see in Valentines Day. With a 5 star review in the Metro, The Guardian called ‘What Would Beyonce Do?’ ‘one of the biggest stand up hits of the decade’.

Sophie Mollins

On the 9th of February Sophie Molins is hosting an event at Two Temple Place; the old Astor Neo Gothic mansion amidst Egyptian artefacts. There will be drinks and delicious food with Will Self and guests reading something strange and wonderful to suit the atmosphere of Mummies in a Neo Gothic mansion. The evening is to raise funds for her recovery house Steps2recovery for people coming out of Prison.

AfroditiKrassa

AfroditiKrassa have extended their signature product collection with the Calcutta Tile. The brand new mirror wall tile, inspired by classic art deco pattern, comes in our three tinted mirror colours. more+

Gluckman Smith are delighted to launch their new website that was worked on in collaboration with ex-studio holders Hatched.

Tiipoi have been showing their original launch collection of tableware and kitchenware from 2014 as well their more recent 2015 ‘in colour’ collection at Maison & Objet Paris.

Julie Goldsmith Exhibition

Julie Goldsmith, a member of the Royal British Society of Sculptors, will exhibit her sculptures at LIBRARY on the 8th of February 2016.  Julie will talk about her influences and inspirations as well as be accompanied by Irish poet and musician Niall McDevitt, who will read his poetry and tell interesting stories from history about the streets around LIBRARY.

Bethan Gray Design have just returned from Maison & Objet Paris for their fourth year, where they were showcasing their latest luxurious collection of tables and a new colour palette.

Westminster Enterprise Week

We had the pleasure of hosting the entrepreneurs of the future yesterday as part of Westminster Enterprise Week, a week long festival of events, connecting young people to Westminster’s world class enterprise landscape.

Pitman Tozer

Pitman Tozer’s submission with Naked House and LB Enfield has been selected as one of ten winners of the NLA International Ideas Competition in partnership with the Mayor of London to help solve the London housing crisis. This forms part of a wider NLA Insight Study where Pitman Tozer’s award-winning housing scheme for Peabody is also exhibited.

Exhibition runs at The Building Centre until 17 Dec.
