Spring Round Up: We say hello to new members and share the latest news from around the studios

Lehmann & Gardfeldt

Spinning out from the highly successful marketing team at The Yacht Week, Lehmann & Gardfeldt is an independent marketing agency specialised in cutting through the noise for the over-entertained generation. Their clients are typically in the experiential, travel or lifestyle space and at the stage where they are looking to step up their ad-hoc marketing efforts to a cohesive and commercially viable marketing strategy. These strategies are then brought to life with culturally relevant, best-in-class content.

Miska Miller-Lovegrove

Miska Miller-Lovegrove and Mathilde Bretillot are set on reinventing the art fair experience. Their remarkable, pared back design for the first edition of Draw Art Fair London, at Saatchi Gallery 17-19 May 2019, will put art before spectacle.

Miska describes the minimalist setting: “From the moment they walk into the exhibition space, viewers will see nothing but art in their sightline. Free standing booths in the centre of the rooms will emphasise a museum like setting so you can really concentrate on drawing.” The designers have created minimalist furniture throughout the fair to accentuate the simplicity of the fair’s structure, giving pride of place to the artworks.

The Electric Barge

You may have seen The Electric Barge, a big blue, silent-running electrically powered boat, which is host to events for up to 60 people, cruising past GWS on trips between Ladbroke Grove and Camden Lock via Little Venice. In the past few years, we’ve welcomed teams from Tom Dixon, Nike, Pinterest, ITV, Frieze, Google and many others on board to party, plan or ponder.

All of our profit from commercial hire is ploughed straight back into supporting our charitable education project, The Floating Classroom. Your hire will directly support local school children to learn more about the natural world, to develop a sense of kinship with it and – we hope – to become better guardians of it. Saving the world one event at a time!

The Meanwhile Gardens Classroom is their first project on dry land, and will see them deliver 20 learning sessions at a pop-up gazebo classroom in Meanwhile’s Courtyard Garden.

Pupils at local primary schools will take part in two sessions each over the summer term. The first will see them plant flowers, vegetables and herbs and learning how to cultivate them over the coming weeks. In the second – delivered 6-8 weeks later, pupils will return to harvest what they have grown in order to prepare, cook and eat a celebratory communal meal.
