blue{shift} is West London’s premier coding school; we offer coding and robotics classes and workshops for kids aged 5-14. We were started in September 2013 with the aim of teaching kids a creative approach to coding.
We create our own teaching materials utilising a number of different programming environments, coding languages and approaches. We cover a whole range of abilities and coding environments from Scratch to JavaScript to engineering and electronics. We care deeply about all children becoming active creators of technology, not simply, passive users.

Education charity, the Floating Classroom, provides hands-on learning experiences for school children inspired by the London’s waterways as it travels along the Grand Union and Regent’s Canals from its mooring in Paddington. For children living in some of the most densely populated and deprived parts of the city we provide all-too-rare opportunities to engage directly and thrillingly with the natural world.
Marketed as the Electric Barge, the boat is also the venue for a wide range of events including parties, receptions, business meetings and team awaydays. It provides a great space either to think, reflect and plan or to socialise and celebrate.
Crucially, the income we generate from the commercial hires is ploughed straight back into supporting learning activities on the Floating Classroom.
