Run For the Hills

Run For the Hills have a raft of new hospitality openings coming up, including the recently launched Made Of Dough in the heart of Peckham. The up and coming MOD pizza champs first made a name for themselves on the festival circuit, before taking up a residency in Brixton Pop alongside a lot of the youngest and hippest F&B brands, serving up saucy slices to a hip and edgy soundtrack. Shipping container stint behind them, they enlisted Run For The Hills back in the Spring, to help them style up their first bricks and mortar restaurant. The studio got cracking with spatial planning and tech layouts and then gave their new space an edgy gold and black interior design makeover. Adding a RFTH signature topping of in-venue graphics, including a cool fly posted wallpaper mash up. Check out the full Made of Dough case study here.

In other restaurant design news, the studio is also set to launch a new Vietnamese in Notting Hill and are working on the design of several new sites for their Hawaiian sushi clients at Island Poke. The studio has also been shortlisted for two International Design & Architecture Awards for some of their residential design projects, also getting special recognition in the Property Marketing awards for their branding and brochure design work for The Market Building. Busy times indeed.

Dan Marks Studio fantastic first restaurant

Dan Marks Studio are delighted to have completed their first restaurant for Monty’s Deli in April this year.

They’re thrilled that Monty’s is getting great press including an excellent feature in Wallpaper* magazine. In designing the space they set out to expose original features that help to uncover the building’s narrative and, ultimately, add character to the finished scheme. The front of house restaurant design acts as a foil to the historic building fabric. It is the juxtaposition of contemporary fit out elements with the original historic building features that make the end product warm, soulful and distinct.

RaspberryPlum ss17 collection

RaspberryPlum have dropped their ss17 collection and it’s adorable.

This season the collection took its inspiration from a few different sources, which are closely connected. The stock character Pierrot, and his large frill collars, oversized buttons, frills and wide culottes have inspired the shapes of the ss17 range.

The collection features strong graphic images which have been influenced by the outlandish costumes of theatre of Bauhaus and the Modern and Postmodern stage of Oskar Schlemmer. They also looked the work of one of the leading album and book cover designers of the 20th century Neil Fujita. As with previous seasons They kept the colours soft and summery; lilac, nude, soft orange, citrus yellow, pastel green and denim blue. Some of the colours intentionally looking almost sun bleached. The colours were influenced by the pallet of the sketched for the costumes of Triadic Ballet by Oskar Schlemmer.

Read more about the collection here.
