A Hygge Christmas – An Idler Event at Great Western Studios!

Hygge (pronounced ‘hue-gah’) is the Danish philosophy of cosiness and contentment. It encourages a feeling of warmth, comfort, and belonging – just right for Christmas.

The author of The Book of Hygge, Louisa Thomsen Brits is coming to create a bit of Hygge with the idlers at a special Christmas evening on Thursday the 8th December. She will be telling us about Hygge’s historical roots and explaining how we can bring a bit into our lives.

They’ll be Hygge snacks from local restaurant Snaps and Rye and tea cups of Hendrick’s gin and tonic. For tickets visit idler.co.uk

GWS Social: German Christmas Party

We’re very excited to announce the date and location of this year’s Great Western Studios Christmas Party!

Join us in the GWS car park on Wednesday the 7th December from 6pm for a mini German Christmas Market! They’ll be fantastic food provided by Bish Bosh Bangers, music provided by High Society Oompah Band, plenty of mulled wine and friends, new and old, to mingle with.

Party hats and Christmas jumpers are optional but always encouraged!

GWS Social: Titan Yard Party

Tuesday 20th November

To informally introduce themselves and to take advantage of the last of the summer weather our building contractors, Titan, are throwing a Yard Party for all Studio Holders!

Join Titan on Tuesday the 20th September from 6pm in the Great Western Studios car park. If the weather let’s us down, we’ll move the party inside to the café.

They’ll be plenty of good food, a few beverages and a side of builder’s banter!

Special thanks to The Pizza Project and The Flying Pig Hog Roast Company who will be providing the delicious food.

The Idler’s ever-popular six week handwriting course with top calligrapher Cherrell Avery

GWS Social: Let’s have a drink!

It’s been a few months since the last GWS gathering, so we’re very please to announce that the next Great Western Social will take place next month… on a Friday!

We know it’s a pretty ‘risqué’ move to host our drinks on a Friday night but we figured you’d rather rest your sore head in bed, rather then on your desk!

Join us from 6pm at The Union Tavern (5 minutes walk from GWS along the canal) for a catch up, a few drinks and hopefully some sunshine.

The last few socials have been a huge success so put this in your calendar today and come along, introduce yourself and engage in our fantastic creative community.

After the success of last week’s GWS social at The Prince Bonaparte we’re thrilled to announce the time and location of our Great Western Studios Christmas Party!

We have hired a room at The Metropolitan from 6.30pm on Tuesday 15th of December and GWS will be providing nibbles and drinks. Join us for a glass of mulled cider or bubbly and mingle with your fellow studio holders. Party hats and Christmas jumpers are optional but always encouraged!  We look forward to seeing you there!
